Madame Tussie lives in a crumbling grey mushroom, in a crumbling grey forest on a crumbling grey shore. Despite her iron penchant for gobbling up those who stray into her woods, there are many who seek out the old witch, for there are few faster ways to raise an army than to buy one at Madame Tussie's House Of Man-Candles.
Although they do not come cheap, man-candles are available in package deals ranging from a few dozen to several thousand, and are ready for battle within weeks. Delivered by carts pulled by hulking ape-men, man-candles come packed neatly into crates, and Madame Tussie even provides a set of simple clothing and a book of matches with each one.
Man-Candles are made from human fat. Where Madame Tussie acquires such vast quantities is unknown. There are many theories
- She has discovered the corpse of a vast demon or dead god, which she is mining for it's fat
- She knows a path to one of Hell's secret rivers; specifically, one which is made of burning fat.
- She has a deal worked out with the ghoul tribes, who save gristle and fat in barrels and tubs to sell to her
- Madame Tussie's Man-Candles themselves harvest human fat while their masters sleep, sending it to her through secret means
A Man-Candle looks like a man made of wax, with wicks and often smaller candles growing out of their heads. Their faces, which usually melt and deform over the course of their life, are stained with color in various configurations to differentiate them. They are unfailingly polite, but never speak, instead responding to any question with a half smile and a nod. For one year and one day from the day they are delivered, the will serve their purchase with a smile. They need not eat or sleep, but will fall into a lifeless stupor if their candle is extinguished. For this reason, when marching into battle, they must be provided with specially designed helmets which allow the flame to burn uninterrupted while also being accessible for re-lightings. The helmets end up looking much like an onion.

The fumes from a man-candle are soporific and distracting. For each man-candle within 10' of a character, they suffer -1 to all rolls, to a maximum of -3. Man-candles, of course, are immune to this effect.
Man-Candles suffer grievously under a sustained flame, taking double damage from them.
