OMEN BIRD

Omen Bird is a braggart and a knave and an Elf on his father's side. He is a mercenary, and an assassin. He adopts a meretricious persona, but his magic is cold and bright and quick. His copper knife is called Anvil-To-Ground; his wand is lightning-blacked oak. He knows a spell to warm the heart, and a spell to calm fear, and a spell to make that which is not real seem true.
Crimes: Whispersmithing, murder, murder for hire, possession and sale of poison, smuggling, theft, mind reading, failure to report to the Imperial Census, grave robbing, desecration, breaking treaties, heresy.
GHOST-EATER
Ghost-Eater is so named because he knows a charm to eat the essence of a dead man's spirit, and afterwards, no one may remember who that dead man once was. He preys especially upon the Elf, for their meat is the sweetest, and their souls the brightest. He can summon smoke and make fire to dance, to call thunder and make the earth shake, and does all four regularly. A score of Beastmen worship him as a god, and his sacrament is piracy.
Crimes: Unlicensed magic, brigandry, poaching, taking the form of a beast and living amongst them, cannibalism, consorting with Beastmen, causing nightmares, rapine, arson, witchcraft, necrophagia.
PLACE WITHOUT SIGHT OR SOUND

Place Without Sight Or Sound waits in velveteen darkness, in a ruined palace of strange architecture and foreign style, which travels through time backwards, slowly rebuilding itself. Place Without Sight Or Sound can see many things hidden in the past, and many things that will come to be. It has stored many secrets in the ruined halls of its home, and languors there amongst them in the cold. Its magic is old, and terrible, and weird. Where it travels, coral-like growths spring up and give off pale light in the darkness.
Crimes: Performing unlicensed magic, augaries, temporal displacement, causing unbirths and predeaths, opening portals, unknowability.

Ghost Eater's "efface you from the memory of the world" gimmick is amazing
ReplyDeleteSome of these dicks will be appearing in CARCOSA.
ReplyDeleteIf you use a sorcerer in your game, I'd love to hear about it!
DeleteWhen I first saw these pics in NG, I thought "man, I hope somebody does something with these". Thanks!
